New Baby, new car....

On Saturday the 28th, we spent the day going to two different dealerships to get a new car. We signed paperwork and they said they would find us the car in the color we wanted on Monday and we went home. That night, my water broke and Maddie was born. On Tuesday we went home home from the hospital with plans to go to pick up the car that afternoon. The dealership called us and said they would bring it to us! We signed the paperwork on our dining room table and got a tour of the car in our driveway!  (if you want a honda and live in the greater Danbury area...go to Honda of Danbury and ask for Max! ;)

Introducing Madeleine Paige!!!!

On August 29, 2010 at 8:22 am, Miss Madeleine Paige Fournier came into the world. She weighed in at a petite 7lbs 11oz and 19.5 inches long. I had hoped for a smaller baby than her big brother who was 8.1 and 20.5 inches; I got what I wanted but not by much!  Maddie came out absolutely perfect; we couldn't be happier.

So Maddie, here is your birth story....
At about 8:40 pm, Mom and Dad were getting comfy on the couch getting ready to watch Hot Tub Time Machine. Daddy had a big bowl of ice cream ready to go and was aiming the remote at the TV to hit Play when Mommy felt something strange, stood up with her handy dandy bath towel wrapped around her and as she waddled (quickly) out of the living room, she said over her shoulder "water breaking, WATER BREAKING!!!!!"  Mommy made it to the bathroom without too much damage and stayed in there laughing for a little while before she could really get it together.  After she calmed down, she called Nana and Papa and told them to hit the road, Madeleine is coming!!! Mommy and Daddy then regrouped upstairs to figure out the game plan and decided to call our friend Parke to come and stay with Christian until Nana and Papa could get to our house. Mommy and Daddy both took showers and put clean sheets on the bed for Nana and Papa and when Parke got to the house, we packed the car and were at the hospital around 9:30.

Then there was a LOT of waiting. We walked around the maternity ward, took advantage of the free WiFi, tried to rest a bit and then around 3 am, Mommy got her epidural. Mommy had had a bad cold and cough for a few days already and the cough had made all of her stomach muscles strain.  She couldn't even sit up or roll over. She was afraid to get her epidural so soon, that it might stop your labor, but they gave me pitocin to keep it all moving along and we were good to go. Then Mommy and Daddy took a four hour nap!

Around 5 or so, the resident checked Mommy and we were only at 4 or 5 cm. Mommy couldn't believe that that was all! Then around 745, Dr. Miller checked Mommy again and we were at 7 cm. Dr. Miller said it would be a few hours and then we would have a baby. About 10 minutes after the doctor left the room, Mommy was in excruciating pain! She couldn't even speak. Daddy called for the nurse to come back and when she finally came and checked Mommy, she said "That baby is coming NOW!" There was a lot of commotion in the hallway and orders to Mommy to NOT PUSH. She was left alone in the room for what seemed like an eternity while Daddy went to the bathroom and then bright lights were being turned on and a midwife came in and introduced herself; Dr. Miller was in the OR and couldn't be there to deliver you! (all the guarantees in the world that a stranger would not deliver my baby and here we were again!) Daddy asked the midwife if there was anything they could do to take the edge off of the pain and the answer was no "it will all be over in 5 minutes". Within a few minutes, your head was out and the midwife asked Mommy if she wanted to pull you out. I reached down and grabbed you and in a few seconds you were on my chest and yelling! You were the most beautiful pink little thing ever. After a little while, they took you away to weigh you and clean you up but then you came back and just laid on Mommy's chest, looking around and content to just stay there forever.

We waited a long time for you Madeleine, but you were well worth the wait. Mommy and Daddy wouldn't have it any other way!

36 Weeks!!!

So Miss M...here you are at 36 weeks! We are ANXIOUSLY awaiting your arrival  and wonder if you will be like your big brother and come a tad early. We set up your crib and are starting to get the boxes out of your room that have been sitting here for a year. Your big brother helped put your crib together and tightened all of the bolts with extra attention and love.

See you soon baby girl!

31 weeks and counting.....

Well, Little Miss M, we have hit the home stretch. I can't believe how close we are to finally getting to see you! You move around a lot now...there is no kicking, no poking, just a lot of wiggling and readjusting. Your Daddy took a video of my stomach moving around in ridiculous ways; it's pretty crazy to watch. While your big brother was "easier" at this stage of the game; you have been worth all of the hard work and being sick and all the other unpleasantness that has happened along the way. We have waited a long time for you and hopefully the next few weeks will go by quickly!

Love,
Mommy, Daddy and Christian

Christian's 4th Birthday...His ACTUAL birthday!

On Monday, June 21st, our little man turned FOUR. I can hardly believe that he is already four years old. Time has flown by. Christian has grown up so much and has such a personality all his own. One of the funnier things that he has started to do is when he doesn't like something that we have done or said, he very snarkily says "HMMPH".  After a year home with mom, Christian will be starting back at a new preschool come September and he will become a big brother around the same time. Lots of changes but I think he is looking forward to it all.

We love you, Bubba! Mommy and Daddy are SO proud of you!

Christian's 4th Birthday...Take 2

The weekend of Father's Day was also the weekend of Christian's actual birthday this year. Poor Daddy has had to take the backseat to Christian's birthday for the last couple of years. On Saturday, we invited all of Christian's friends from our Blue Sky playgroup to play in the backyard and cookout. It seemed like the kids all had fun playing in the sprinkler and the sandbox etc.
This is AFTER the birthday boy dumped the dinosaur watering can full of pool water over unassuming Joshua's head...he handled it well!
Very nice..... :)

The many faces of Christian....

Daddy was having some fun with our new camera and was able to capture some of Christian's best faces....

Christian's 4th Birthday...Take 1

Since Rich and I had to go to MA for a family wedding the week before Christian's birthday, we figured we could celebrate with our family and friends at the same time and cut down on some travel. We had the bash at Nana and Papa's house and all of our family that could make it and most of our MA friends were there too. Christian had a great time and got to hang out with his buddy Annie for the day!
