Christian is just blowing us away with all of the words he learns. He says a couple new ones almost every day at this point. The other day we had a playdate at our new friends Cooper and Taryn's house and we were sitting out on the back deck and Christian pointed up and said "UMBRELLA"...it comes out "UMblehBLUH" but we know what he means. This morning he said "shower. All wet?" So now he is even putting small groups of words together. Making progress.
Another word that came up sometime last week was "truck". He got some big tonka trucks back in June for his birthday and has just recently become totally enamored by them and plays with them constantly. Being here in White Plains, we are always seeing trucks, fire trucks, police cars...they are all trucks right now. The problem is in how we SAY truck. In our house it is the F-bomb. Over and over again. F*&#, F*&#, F*&#. Walking over by the water fountains earlier in the week, there was a box truck parked on the side of the street and a guy was there taking a break from unloading it. As we walk by, Christian very excitedly points at the truck and says F*&#! The guy almost fell off of the crate he was sitting on. All we could think to do was to very loudly say, "RIGHT! TRUCK!"
He says it so much he is taking the fun out of it! :)
